APE

We had our Annual Physical Exam last week.
I was expecting my blood pressure to be high nung chineck ang BP ko.

Kasi before BP, nag check muna ng weight and height.

Eto ang sabi ng nurse after checking my height
Nurse:  4'8" po ang height nyo
Jamie: Huh, seryoso?

Seryoso kaya, 4'8"?
Eh nahihiya na nga akong ilagay sa resume na 4'11", what more 4'8"...
Apol, anong height mo?

Glenn's first spa experience

On our 13th month anniversary, i used the coupons i bought at cashcash.

Shui Hilot Spa is stone throw away from Greenbelt 5.
I made an appointment with them Tuesday palang para sure na ma accomodate nila kami ng Sunday.

I was happy kasi yung cubicle namin ni Glenn, tinanggal yung divider.  So parang couple room at no extra cost :)  First time kasi ni Glenn, baka sa sobrang masarapan eh makatulog.

Well, there's no jacuzzi and sauna facility =(
Massage lang talaga, pero bonggang bonggang massage.
As in HIIILLLOOOTTT.

According to them, hilot is a deep nerve massage, kaya inexpect ko na na hindi sya light.
Pero hindi naman ganoong ka-heavy!
Glenn loved it, thats what he wants.

Glenn says we'll come back daw.
Patay! paano yan, wala ng yung promo.  Tsk tsk.
Sabi ko nalang sa kanya, we'll try other spa center nalang din  in Makati (hello cashcash)

After the spa, we went to Glorietta para torturin ni Glenn ang sarili nya by looking at the kicks he want.  I told him to go ahead and get it, its his birthday anyway.  Pero nahihiya daw sya sakin (sus! naman!)

Being the usisero that we are, we made usisa on the newly opened Ayala Triangle Gardens.
Meron kasing Banapple dun.  Yey! accessible na samin ang Banapple!
Gusto rin sana namin itry yung Wee Nam Kee to check out what all this hype is over its hainanese chicken rice.  Pero blockbuster sya, andami tao.

So Banapple it is na nga :)
The place is also packed pero hindi naman kami matagal naghintay ng seat =)

Next to Banapple is a yogurt shop.
I told myself i will refrain from buying yogurt other than yesyes yo kasi nga expensive.  Pero i wasnt able to resist. Pati, i havent tried this Golden Spoon.
I ordered  a "Kiddie size". P85  Ouch!
Sorry, but for me, this is the only yogurt na hindi ko nagustuhan.

After all these years...

Days before our 13th anniversary (ano ba ang tawag sa anniversary nung naging magBF-GF)?

Of all the books there, meron akong isang kinuha to read it.
A day after, nakita na meron papel na andun.

I realized these were the wordings in the card he gave me on our 10th month anniversary.

Glenn got himself regular yogurt in cup for P35, mine with Mango topping P40.
Then I got another with mango and strawberry topping for P50.  (P10 daw kasi ang strawberry)

Sasahama + Nolboo

Sasahama
Last week, Glenn and I tried the Sasahama Japanese Restaurant in Kawit Cavite.  This restaurant is actually famous around here.  Its walking distance from where we live, but we never got to try it until the other week.

This place is always packed with foreigners...kaya medyo natso-tseope kami.

The price...hmm...ofcourse being the cory that i am, syempre namamahalan ako.  Pero after seeing the look on Glenn's face as he eats the salmon sashimi-pwede na =)
We paid Php900 for this:  2 soup + 1 salmon sashimi + 1 order of dumpling + coke

BTW, the interior isnt fancy ha.  Its actually like an airconditioned carinderia.  Well, the food must be good kasi even so..dinadayo parin.

Nolboo Korean Restaurant
I love this place.
Actually noon pa (years back) nagyayakag si Glenn sa Korean restaurant sa may Roxas Boulevard, nakikita nya daw yun maraming tao on his way to work.

Kaya eto, I came back there with HS Berks

We had a very good meal.  Our bill was P1850, for 4pax it isnt so bad. =)
We went to Las Pinas for coffee afterwards, sumunod si Jonjon.

Who doesnt want coupons?!

No this isnt a spam mail.  Seryoso to.

Last week i found out about  the Cashcashpinoy
Theyve got cool deals!
I have booked a spa deal for Glenn and I, and pinatos din ko yung deal nila with Sicilian Express Pizza.

I have subscribed to several groupons (ensogo, awesome, buyanihan )
It aint fun seeing all those XX% OFF.

Aba teka...
Hindi pala ako nakatipid, ano?  Kasi napagasta pa nga ako, wala naman ako kabalak-balak magspa at magpizza dyan..
Parang nakakaloko to ah....

Hey Lee Da Hae! we dont speak that way!

Im so disappointed.
I loved this Korean soap girl from My Girl,
i found her very cute.

Pero after watching this...
hmmm, yabang mo!

Gosh, korean people here at my workplace praise us Filipinos for a better English speaker than them.

"How can?" "why like that?!"  (hehehe)

She sends her apology via twitter http://www.twitlonger.com/show/6plc2r

i will miss my seatmate

Again, another officemate will render his last day at work this weekend.
Seatmate ko sya, i will miss him terribly.  His name is Romel, but we call him with a lot of names

Eto yung dalawa sa tawag namin sa kanya:
a.  Dr Romel - kasi ibang level sya, sya ang pangtapat namin pag meron customer inquiry na Phd.  Pag meron kaming tanong sa Chemistry or Physics-he's the man.

b.  Bongga - kasi he is a country boy na napaka humble.  Walang bahid ng kahit na konting kayabangan.  When he filed a leave once, we asked why.
Then when we asked why he was in Japan for almost a yeart (akala namin training sa dati nya work), yun pala ay exchange student program (sya ang first na naqualify for this type of program ng La Salle).  Napacomment kami tuloy ng "napaka bongga mo pala"

Tonight, the R&D team had a dinner at a korean restaurant nearby. Bonding time with boss Ryu.  He speaks so highly of Dr Romel.  Nagulat kami, bumangka ng bumangka sa usapan si bossing :)  He was a fine host.

He served us Soju, it alcoholic drink in Korea.
Im actually googling it now.

Waah...google says..

Etiquette

In Korean culture, using two hands to offer and accept items is considered an act of respect. Accordingly, if one's glass is going to be filled by a superior, one should hold the glass with both hands. Similarly, when pouring soju for an elder, one holds the bottle with both hands.

Sorry Sir, we didnt know.  By the way, we admired bossing even more.  He said something about his 5year stay in the Philippines, he says he and his wife always include our country in his prayers.  Ouch! do you pray for Philippines?

Going back to Dr Romel, i still havent finished my scrap note for him, tomorrow we will have a simple gathering again for him.  I will miss you Dr Romel!
