Last Sunday, we had a nice chitchat with Glenn’s uncle Doc and his wife.
Topic: Spending wisely
Yeah, its just about time that people seriously think of spending wisely.
We are guilty of not being wise spenders recently.
Have you seen the news recently? Everyday, it talks about the threats on job security due to the global financial crisis.
Glenn and I have seriously discussed that we have to cut down expenses.
Napagtanto namin, we werent spending so much when his dad was still here.
Kasi we had his dad enjoy his new car hanggat andito sya, we didn’t borrow it.
But when he went abroad, ayan na, almost every Sunday, nasa galaan kami. Tsk..tsk
So our first step is LESS GALA.
Less gala = less gas + less toll fee + less dine out
By the way, I’d like to share with you one thought Doc has discussed to us.
He has this term “Tapon”
Try to allocate some amount, say 5% of your income, this goes to your TAPON
If you have saved extra money, that goes to your SAVINGS.
You withdraw from your savings when your cash in hand is not enough right?
You don’t withdraw from your tapon for everyday survival or to lend this to somebody in need.
This is termed as TAPON because you have to think of this as if it doesn’t exist anymore. This money is exclusively for you and your partner in the future.
Use this when you get old and (we don’t have job anymore) – that is, kung buhay pa kami at mayroon makain dahil sa kaka “TAPON”
Hehehe
We’ll give it a try.
